Questions

When do the letters start?

Whenever they like. They redeem the code on our website at any time in the 12 months after you buy it, and the next letter goes out to them.

What does the recipient need to do?

Go to lettresdefrance.com/redeem, or scan the QR code on the card, and enter the code. They choose the age group, give the address, and that's it. We ask for a card so they can carry on after the gift, but nothing is charged for the gift letters.

What happens after the last gift letter?

They can carry on at the normal monthly price, or cancel before then and pay nothing. You won't be charged anything more.

Which age groups is it for?

Les Petits Explorateurs for ages 7–11, and Les Jeunes Correspondants for 12 to adult. The recipient chooses when they redeem the card.

Do they need to speak French already?

No. Every letter comes with an English translation, so complete beginners can follow it, and the audio lets them hear how it sounds.

Who writes the letters?

Nathalie, a native French speaker born and raised in Paris. She taught French in primary and secondary schools and has more than 20 years' experience as a teacher and tutor. She now lives in the north of England, where she home-educates her three children.

Can I send it to someone outside the UK?

Yes. Choose "Outside the UK" and the letters go by Royal Mail anywhere in the world; the price already includes the postage. Or choose Digital Only, and the letter comes as a PDF instead.

Can I put a message on the card?

Yes, up to 300 characters. It's printed on the gift card with your name.
